Press the button and in under 30 seconds you'll have an indication of your computer's speed! The program runs four different tests and gives a score for each area at the end. The scores are scaled logarithmically. This gives better resolution closer to the middle of the scale. The difference between a score of 800 and a score of 900 is far bigger than the difference between 500 and 600. For comparison, my 5-year-old Intel i5-equipped laptop scores 580-600. DETAILS ABOUT THE TESTS: Looping Rate: Measures how many times a loop with a variable block can interate within one second. Pen Stamping: Measures how many times a sprite can use the pen stamp feature within one second. The sprite and stamps are hidden by an overlay so you can't see them. Clone Movement: This has two parts. The first involves a sprite creating 50 clones (again behind an overlay so the user can't see them) which bounce around the screen in various directions. The number of iterations in 5 seconds is recorded. The second part measures how many times the sprite can sense whether it is touching a colour in one second. Advanced Math: Does an extremely complex calculation involving lots of exponents, trigonometry, logarithms and square roots. The number of calculations within one second is measured.
