***LISTEN ON LOW VOLUME*** Ello everyone! KH16 here. Sorry for not posting that often. With it being summer, I usually just binge watch anime all day more than being on my computer. Though I do comment and favorite a lot, so I guess I'm technically active..? Anyways, about a week ago my IRL fren came to my house. We decided to watch some anime and she wanted to watch the first episode of Fruits Basket. Since we both completed the dub of the anime, we watched the sub, and that's how I discovered this song existed. In the dubbed version, a shorter version of this song is played at the beginning of each episode, but in the sub, the full song is played. I found the song to be quite relaxing and beautiful. Also, I added some notes in the background of this project. If you'd like the change the instruments I used, it instructs you on how to do so. About the anime... oh god... get prepared because we're going on a feels trip ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So back in 2016, my one of my IRL frens suggested that I watch an anime called Fruits Basket. At the time, I was already occupied with other animes (Assassination Classroom, Naruto Shippuden, Fairy Tail, and a lot more) but since the anime was pretty short, I decided to watch it. And holy Jesus was I glad I did. This anime made me cry tears. Not many shows can do that to me. I cried twice. When they were explaining Momiji's backstory and the finale (which I won't explain due to spoilers) So to anyone not familiar with Fruits Basket, basically it's about the girl named Tohru that lives with these guys from the Sohma Family, but twelve members of the household have a secret. They each represent a member of the Chinese Zodiac, and when hugged by the opposite sex, they turn into that animal. I found this plot quite interesting, especially with Tohru, who is a girl, living with these people. It creates a lot of opportunities for humor and entertainment in the series. As you watch these series you discover the back stories of all the Sohma members, and this is where the series piles your feels into a trash can and throws it at your face. The pain and struggles that the entire Sohma family killed me. Although the curse itself isn't anything bad, it's looked down upon in the family for some reason. Having the curse made them change their entire lifestyle. Each one of them never got to have a happy childhood (which you'll learn why if you watch the series) The Sohma household is so toxic and evil to each other. It shows you what abuse can do to a child and how it affects them as they grow up. I couldn't help but feel sorry for these people, despite how cool the "curse" is in itself. This anime was by far one of the best pieces of film I've ever seen in my life. The amount of information and character development it had given in such a short amount of episodes blew my mind. Each episodes I was either laughing hard or on the verge of tears. It was the perfect balance of seriousness and comedy, something that I love in any series. As a token of my gratitude and appreciation for the series itself, I decided to make the theme into a Noteblock song. I hope you enjoy! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Romaji: Totemo ureshikattayo Kimi ga warai kaketeta Subete o tokasu hohoemi de Haru wa mada tookute Tsumetai tsuchi no naka de Mebuku toki o matte ita 'nda Tatoeba kurushii kyo da toshte mo Kinou no kizu o nokoshite ite mo Shinjitai kokoro hodo ite yukeru to Umare kawaru koto wa dekinai yo Dakedo kawatewa yukeru kara Let's stay together itsumo English Translation: I was so very happy When you smiled at me A smile that melted everything away Spring is still far away And within the cold ground I awaited the time when sprouts would put forth their buds Even supposing today there may have been some pain And though the scars of yesterday remain You can go on living as much your heart wants to believe You cannot be born again, although You can go on changing yourself, and so Let's stay together, always
