This is an Australian school project designed to teach young children the basics of HTML. PROJECT INFORMATION: At the moment, children don’t start learning code until Year 10, this is not a good system for many reasons, the main one being that, but the time a pupil is in Year 10, it can be difficult to learn a brand-new skill, when it would be much easier to teach children from a younger age! Another major problem surrounding Year 10 is that people in Year 10 that want to learn to code, don’t want to have to use children’s programs like Scratch, they want to get into the challenging things, which they can’t do without knowing the basics, which were not taught to them at a young age using programs like Scratch (which for use with younger children is just fine), so they have to learn them in Year 10. The way the system works can, and should be changed, but in the short term, there are two solutions: 1. Create a program to teach young children the basics of code. 2. Create a program to teach older children who have not been taught the basics of code, the basics of code. Ideally, both should be done, but we should start with the younger generation. I will be creating a program which teaches young children the basics of html which is very good language to start learning code with, this is because: • It teaches syntax • It is easy to remember • It is easy to debug • You can easily produce results • A good stepping stone into other related languages like: o CSS o JS (More advanced) o PHP (More advanced again) ==== Systems in this project: - Custom Costume Display System - OS Detector
I sound harsh on Scratch in my breif, but I love it, don't worry <3
