I haven't decided on a title for the story yet. Some parts of the story are based on fairytales, and the characters are pretty much all based on fairytale ones. I probably won't share the other chapters on Scratch, but once I'm done with the entire story, I will share it on Storybird. >><<>><< Credit to @bubblebee3 for the music - another amazing piece called 'Jade Dragon'. >><<>><< https://storybird.com/chapters/shards-of-shadow-1/1/?token=7gktqegsu2 [link on Storybird] >><<>><< FOR PHONE USERS, OR EXTREMELY LAGGY DEVICES, HERE'S THE STORY: The moon was losing it’s light. The stars were dimming. The night was growing darker still. In the Mirrorealm, a dark figure pressed his hand upon the cold mirror-glass. Finally. Some of his magic would be able to seep into the Otherworld - the world where the Commanders lived. It had been so long since his kind - the shadows - had infected that sickeningly bright Otherworld, showing the Commanders how much more powerful darkness was compared to their feeble rays of light. But Luck had been on the Commanders’ side. On Light’s side. It always was. Why couldn’t those higher beings understand that the Commanders didn’t deserve it, whereas they, the Shadows needed all the allies they could get. Listen to yourself. Admitting weakness. Admitting that you need help from biased beings. This is what mirrors do to you. They make you doubt yourself until you are simply a shell of the powerful spirit you are now. How he hated this prison of reflections. It made him think, and he never used to think. But then again, hadn’t that been his downfall? Perhaps Luck was on his side, helping him learn from his mistakes, so that when he finally broke, from this cursed mirror prison, he could craft a plan that would be invincible. He watched the Otherworld’s sky darken into a deeper shade of night than in had been for centuries. It wasn’t long now before the shadows would rise again. >><<>><< ~
