so have you guessed I'm bored?? Here's an excerpt of my writing, it's from my Edwardian AU Mercy isn't quite sure where or how Asa drummed up enough cash to afford to rent a beach house, but she doesn't question it when he invites her and an assortment of other people along with him to spend a long weekend on an island off of the New England coast. It's Asa, Fidelity (of course), Alden, Cyrus, Enoch, Engelise, and Mercy (why not?) packed like sardines in this quaint house painted a cheery yellow, set on an outcropping with waves lapping at the rocks at both sides. The wind blowing off of the ocean gives everything, everything the texture of salt and paints the house in freezing air. Mercy's bundled up like its winter but in seasonally appropriate prints- white sweater, white and red checked scarf, white skirt, white keds, navy blue and white striped socks. Enoch's dressed almost equally as fashionable in his light blue seersucker vest and khaki trousers. He eyes the house with suspicion as they walk up to it, as if he's scared it'll topple down the cliff as soon as someone touches it. Like he told Mercy before they left- he doesn't trust anything that Asa does or says or buys. The cottage smells stale, almost earthy, and when Mercy swipes her finger across the countertop it comes back covered in dust. She silently shows Enoch who rolls his eyes. "I want to go walk along the beach!" Fidelity says excitedly, taking Asa's arm. Asa smiles and tilts his head. "Ah, of course sweetheart," he says. "I want to collect shells," Cyrus pipes up. He's sitting ankles crossed at the table, head resting on his hand like an illustration straight off of a magazine cover. "We can go collect shells," Alden answers, placing a hand on Cyrus's, sitting equally as picturesque. Enoch glances over at Mercy, shrugs his shoulders. "Shall we?" He asks, holding out his arm. She takes it with a smile. Music: A Far Friendlier Robot by Griffin McElroy
