Hey everyone! :D Welcome to the Official Sun Rising Callbacks for Episodes 1+! ^.^ I have chosen to call back 21 Scratchers who auditioned for Episode 1 of Sun Rising, so if I did not specifically notify you on your profile, you can just ignore this project. BUT, if you auditioned for Sun Rising and were not called back, it does NOT mean that you will not be part of the cast! I have already cast 4 of the characters, so you could very well already be a part of the cast. :-) Thanks so much for understanding! <33 Ok, now let's get down to business! :D To those who were called back: Hiya (again)! :D Thanks so much for taking the time to check out this project! First off, I would STRONGLY recommend that you read the ENTIRE Notes and Credits. It contains vital info and instructions about recording your audition. :-) If you struggle with reading, then ask an older sibling, friend, or a parent to read it out loud to you. Thanks so much! :-) So what is a callback? Basically, it's a second round of auditions. :-) Why won't the first ones you recorded (very impressively, I might add) do? The short answer: I want to hear more. :-) For most of you, I saw potential in your audition that I wanted to work with. :-) For some of you, I also want to hear how your voice sounds with other actors' voices (which is why the script this time is a conversation).
Ok, now that we have the formalities out of the way, let's get started! :D Instructions: Please record the lines in the script below for CHARACTER #1. Since this is a conversation, you are more than welcome to voice both characters or (this would be ideal) have a friend voice CHARACTER #2. BUT, you, the auditioner, must at least voice CHARACTER #1. Also, I know this might be a bit challenging, but I want you to record it all in one take. Please don't record each line and then string them together because this is a very intense script, and it's important to let the conversation build on itself. You are more than welcome to edit it later, but I need it as one recording. :-) When you are finished recording, you can either share it as a remix of this project or hide your recording in a project of yours and send me the link. Either one works for me. :-) It would be awesome if you could get your recording to me within a week, but if you need more time, please let me know, and we can work something out. :-) Also, I have written personalized notes and advice for each of you inside this project. :-) If you click "See Inside," and then click the background, you will see 21 little sticky notes in the script section. All you have to do is find the one that has your name on it. :-) I actually wrote these notes while listening to your auditions, so they are very specific for each person. I STRONGLY suggest that you at least take a peek at yours and take it into consideration before you record. :-) Tips: Yay! More tips! xD So basically, you need to do four things for me when you record this script: 1) Laugh 2) Cry 3) Get the best sound quality you possibly can 4) Make it feel like a natural conversation. If you do those four things for me, I will be very happy. :D I can't promise you a part in Sun Rising for sure, but I can promise that your name will be top on my list when I need more voices. :D I would also suggest that you read through the script a couple times before you record, just so you can really understand the emotions the characters are feeling. Also, I do have direction in parenthesis, so make sure you take a look at that as well. :-) I know this is a challenging script, but, as my Hermeneutics professor says, "I have big faith in you guys!" Just do your best and be yourself! :D If you are confused about one part of the script or need some advice, I am more than happy to help! I would even record my own voice as an example of what I'm looking for if that would help. So please, don't be afraid to ask! :D One more thing, and I'm gonna have to be blunt here: if the script is too intense for you, then you should probably not voice act in Sun Rising. Because even though this script has nothing to do with Sun Rising (I wrote it specifically for callbacks), Sun Rising will be as intense as this script at some points. But, like always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please ask away! :-) Alrighty, guys. Here's the script! :D Once again, I want to thank each and every one of you for your hard work and effort thus far! I was honestly blown away by many of your auditions (both those who were called back and those who weren't), and there were many times when I turned to my mom or my sister and said, "You have GOT to listen to this!" :D You guys are truly awesome, and I can't wait to hear what you hit me with next! :D God bless, and AGAPE on! <33 The Script! CHARACTER : Hi CHARACTER : (uninterested) Hey. CHARACTER : Can I sit down? CHARACTER : Go ahead. CHARACTER : So, um, I need to talk to you for a second. CHARACTER : (coldly) I don't really want to talk. CHARACTER : Wait, listen- CHARACTER : (interrupts; upset) No! I don't want to listen! Or talk! I just want to be left alone! Why can't everyone just leave me alone?! (bursts into tears) CHARACTER : (timidly) I-I'm sorry- CHARACTER : (yelling; in tears) Everyone pretends to be sorry!! But no one really understands!! As if your sympathy is just gonna fix everything!! (genuinely crying) (a moment of silence) CHARACTER : (quietly) I miss him too... Remember when he would put us to bed and make up silly voices for each of the characters while he was reading our bedtime story? CHARACTER : (sniff; quiet giggle, yet voice is cracking a bit) Yeah... I remember. CHARACTER : And how he would sneak extra cookies out of the cookie jar- CHARACTER :(interrupts; begins to laugh a bit) When he thought Mom wasn't looking. And then when she turned around, he would just have this look on his face, like *gasp!* (please really gasp. Don't say the word "gasp." :D) BOTH: (laughing) CHARACTER : Yes!! CHARACTER : (laughing) Like a deer caught in the headlights!! BOTH: (more laughter) CHARACTER : (calming down) They seemed like silly things at the time. Now, it's... all we have. CHARACTER : (seriously, but with hope) No, it's not. We still have the love he left. And that will never fade away
