If you don't have one of these power-ups and you touch it, you'll have to hit him from the top or else Mario will take damage. Bullet Bills - These are bullets that shoot out of launchers. To defeat them, touch the top of them or touch them with star power. They are immune to fireballs. If you touch them with a mini mushroom, you can not take damage, but you can not defeat them either. Thwomps - These are the large stones with spikes. You cannot defeat them unless you touch them with star power. If you touch them without star power, you'll take damage.
Credit goes to Nintendo for creating the characters, images, sounds, and concepts. Credit goes to the Spriters Resource for giving access to the majority of the images. Also, I am giving credit to PaulKoning, a Scratcher who created scripts to assign variables to different clones. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have known that making a variable "for this sprite only" allows clones to have their own variables.
