Ahoy! This is what I have so far of my new shmup, Hyper Wave! This version exists for people to test it and tell me what they think about it before I get too far into development, so tell me what you think! Be honest, I want to make this as good as possible! There are only three test waves as of now. (and no music) The structure of this game will be similar to Lightstorm Fighter; two loops with a TLB at the end of loop 2. However, the enemies will come in waves, and you will get score bonuses for perfecting waves. BASIC ENGINE CHANGES: The player's shots now collide with enemies and disappear. This is done by spawning an invisible barrier whenever a player bullet hits it. If you know of a more efficient way to do this, tell me! The barrier also allowed me to make the player's focus shot more powerful by having it ignore the barrier, making it a piercing shot. And finally, the aforementioned wave mechanics.
