The background story goes like this: In the desert, there is an ancient shrine loaded with precious jewels. A group of robbers try to steal the jewels. The shrine is ten days away from them, far into a desert. Each man drinks one gallon a day, and each man can carry up to four containers of 2.5 gallons of water at a time. There are no sources of water in the desert. However, men can leave any number of containers in caches that will not be lost, drained, or stolen. Note: a man has enough water to reach the shrine, but they will have exhausted their supply of water and die of thirst.
