A simple boss fight game in the vein of Cuphead and Tearful Fighter. (The latter being another project of mine) CONTROLS: Left/Right arrows - Move horizontally Up arrow - Jump W/A/D - Aim and shoot Use your projectiles to damage the boss in its two phases. You must deplete all of its HP to win. If your HP runs out, you lose.
Music/sound effects made in Famitracker using the FDS chip. This is mostly a 'practice' project. I was inspired by Cuphead's gameplay and wanted to make a boss engine for that. However, I wouldn't know where to start with spriting those characters like I did with TBOI: Tearful Fighter, so I opted for something a little simpler instead. This might end up becoming a full boss rush game, who knows? I don't. That's why I'm asking you. And since this is quite a simple game engine, feel free to remix with your own ideas. However, if you remix then do be aware of how the spriting works - these are small drawings that are heavily upscaled in the scripts rather than the sprite editor. With that out of the way, remix away!
