You're probably wondering why this is important. Well think of it this way: Scratch is ran on RAM, and computers have limited RAM. I'm using a chromebook that has 4GB of RAM (I think). That means if the only thing my Chromebook did was read a Scratch list, that list would be limited to something like ?????????????. But it doesn't. It has to run several apps and tabs and windows and several things in each Scratch project. This is a tool to show you how much RAM your list uses (this may not be 100% accurate and it doesn't factor the name as data that needs stored) Since the sliders are so delicate, you can press the green button next to each to type in an amount Alternatively, you can import a list into the list named "List" and it will calculate that too. Note: Yes, blank lists take up a byte Note: list items can not be longer than 10240 characters long, if you enter a number higher, it will be counted as 10240.
