NOTICE: I've updated the project with an improved(?) version. press space to see the older version. <3 because of how it was already done, I couldn't take everyone's suggestions, but I did my best to put in the ones I thought would be the most important. (there were a few others I wanted to do, but I couldn't do them without redoing the drawing.) I've been experimenting with my art style and have finally worked out something I'm more than happy with. <3 also, am I the only one who has trouble surviving in the First Snow islands?? -- aa i love it (it's probably one of my favorites?) but I have so much trouble keeping my poor creatures alive.
Hopefully this is helpful to you! It was so hard to criticize your beautiful work. D: Red (Criticism) 1. The mouth is in a somewhat unattainable pose and it comes to close to the eyes. 2. The bit of fur on one of the front legs is somewhat awkwardly positioned and unnecessary. 3. The color in the eyes, ears and gemstones on the character's chest in this piece are beautiful, but they don't have any correlation throughout the rest of the piece making them seem a bit out of place. (what I mean by this is that their colors don't show up anywhere else on the character and having a more limited color scheme might pull the piece together more.) 4. You could show a bit of the characters shoulder for their front leg to fill the large empty space where the arrow is pointing. 5 There is a large empty space in the tail which could benefit from either some more textured shading or lineart showing the fur filling the space. 6. The characters back doesn't curve as much as it should. 7. Ok so I am being so hypocritical here, as I am trying to overcome the same thing in my own art but the characters pose is somewhat stiff and unemotional and you could change the pose to accentuate the characters personality. I need to do this too :'). Blue (Praise) 1. You have achieved a beautiful background that makes it so the character isn't standing in an empty space but still keeps your focus on the character themselves. 2. I love the way you curved the face, it looks somewhat like a bull terrier and I just cannot get enough of it! You also did a great job positioning the nose and working with the unusual shape. :D 3. You did an amazing job of portraying your characters' emotion using the ears. 4. You added interest and complexity too your piece with the white pattern over the face, back and tail of your character.
