Goldenpaw was about to leave on her quest when her best friend walked in front of her. "Come back from that quest alive." Camopelt says crying, "Don't leave me here for no one to love and care for." Camopelt slowly walks closer to Goldenpaw and hugs her tightly. A tear starts to swell in the corner of Goldenpaw's eye. "Don't worry, I would never leave you." Goldenpaw says as the first tear falls from her eye. "Promise?" Camopelt as she opens her eyes, which are bloodshot from crying. "I promise, Camopelt." says Goldenpaw and she pries Camopelt's arms from around her, "I'll be back." Camopelt turns to Arrowstep, "You better make sure she comes back alive, because if you come back alone or with her limp corpse, I promise, I will kill you on the spot. Do you understand, Arrowstep?" Arrowstep nods silently as he walks behind Goldenpaw. "Good." Camopelt says. Camopelt turns to Goldenpaw one more time with a smile on her face, trying to hold back tears. "I know you'll do great, I know you will. Just listen to Arrowstep, OK? He'll take great care of you." Goldenpaw hugs Camopelt "I love you, Camopelt" Goldenpaw says. "I love you too, Goldenpaw." Goldenpaw starts to walk behind Arrowstep into the thick shelter of trees. Camopelt sits by herself for a moment after everyone else goes back to their dens. She looks up at the starry night sky, "Ancestors, if you can hear me, keep Goldenpaw safe on her journey's outside our boundaries." Camopelt lays down and slowly falls asleep, muttering to herself "Come back Goldenpaw, come back home safe."
