Her mother starved to death leaving the kittens begging for warmth. A young twoleg kit snatched the kittens up and hid them in their closet and fed them old and moldy trash. Three of the kittens died of poisoning and two remained, Burn, and her brother, Mulch. When the Twoleg kit's parents found them squealing and begging, they were upset and threw the kittens outside on their own. An old she cat named Jag took them in as her own. She found DeathClan and turned the kits in, hoping that they would take care of them. During training, Burn and Mulch were lighthearted and playful during apprenticeship, until one leaf fall day where a dog killed Mulch. This left Burn heartbroken and depressed, until finally she came to the conclusion that the world was a murderous, heartless place. She lacked any pity or showed any signs of affection from then on.
