The options at the start of the game are to set up the game. Fight means that enemies will spawn, and you can die. Flight means pure sandbox flight, to fly around, feel like a bird, and be happy, no enemies. The difference between the two flying modes are vast. There is controlled flight, and free flight. Controlled Flight: Cannot rotate, Is slower, slower bullet speed, easier to control (Difficulty level: Easy). Special ability: Strafe, In controlled flight, your plane can strafe, making it much easier to dodge pesky missiles. Free Flight: Is faster, faster bullet speed. MUCH harder to control (Difficulty level: Extreme). Special Ability: Rotation, can rotate 360 degrees, therefore, has many more possible ways to fly, and can deal much better with enemies that aren't directly in front of your ship. You have 3 HP, meaning you can get hit 3 times before it's game over. Health regenerates every 7 seconds. I added a mechanic called HEAT, so that it's impossible to just sit in the back and hold down space bar while strafing. Heat caps at 50, once you hit 50 you won't be able to use your weapon until it COMPLETELY cools down. Your ship's default equip is the following: LL-45, your laser, requires a 0.01 cool down between each shot Thermal Vent Chassis, vents out 1 heat every 0.06 seconds Maximum heat: 50 Controls: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ {WASD} = Movement {Spacebar} = Shoot
Whipped this game up after 7 hours straight of coding, some coffee, some soda, some bathroom breaks, and a whole lot of wanting to flip a nearby table due to a bit of code contradicting another bit of code. Enjoy the game! Currently still in it's early stages, as of right now, there's only homing missiles to dodge/destroy, and a sandbox flight mode. Will add more in the future.
