A: There is a difference between common temples and pyramids. Common temples are large structures where you go and worship a god/goddess, while pyramids are large, pyramid shaped structures that often contain tombs for pharaohs. Mortuary temples, however, are similar to pyramids because they both contain a pharaoh’s tomb, yet it is common to have mortuary temples in pyramids to be used as shrines as well.
