Second semester of 8th grade kicked me in the arse pretty hard, and really took me away from Scratch. But trust me, I'm gonna get back on my feet. KH16 is back. I'd officially been on Scratch for two years, and days later, we'd hit 1000 followers Seeing how much I've improved, how much I've grown, it brings nothing but joy to me. I've made so many wonderful friends on this journey, none of this would be possible without all of you. It was all of you that motivated me to continue on Scratch, Let me tell you, making Noteblock songs take a lot of dedication, time, and energy, but it's something I love to create and be proud of. It's been a wild ride these past two years, and I don't regret a single thing. This website has changed me so much as a person. So all I have to say is, well, thank you. Thank you for sticking with me this far. Thank you for commenting, for sharing, for loving, for favoriting, and so much more. No block of text can express how grateful I am to have the audience I have, an audience that enjoys what I love to make. These two songs are from the breathtaking anime movie, Yout Name, and without a doubt one of the greatest animes of out time. I could write an essay why I love this movie. It’s a breathtaking piece of art that defines all logic, showing that love always finds a way. After finishing the film, I took note of the wonderful music, which were composed by the talented band Radwimps. But out of all the soundtracks, I had fallen for Kataware Doki. Using multiple covers and sheet musics as a reference, I'd made my own special arrangement on my piano. _____________________________________________________ Every May we have a concert called Pop Show. We take a break from performing classical choral music and do more peppy modern songs with that sweet cringy middle school choreography everybody loves. But not without a theme. Each year our choir teachers pick out a theme to base the songs we choose on. For this year, our conert was centered around movies. With the addition of small group acts and solos you could audition, my inner weeaboo was screaming, so I decided to do a song from an anime movie. I chose to audition the My Neighbor Totoro theme and ask my friend to do a violin duet with me. We started practicing every morning we could until our audition. But we ran into a lot of problems sadly. Our only guaranteed day to practice were Tuesdays and sometimes Thursdays. Long story short, our audition didn't go that well. I had learned the song months prior and we had less that 20 sessions together to practice. I honestly don't blame her at all. It wasn't her fault that time wasn't on our side. So a couple days pass and the results came in for who made it, and my name was on the list! I was so ecstatic, but wondered which song had made the cut. Turns out my teacher accepted this song! But since the concert was in a few weeks and there was barely any time to rehearse, he cut my friend off the song leaving me with just a piano solo. I was a bit sad since I wanted to actually sing something for the concert but hey, I was grateful I even made it. The night I performed, the night I played this in front of an auditorium, it was quite mesmerizing. I tried to pour all of my emotion in each key, and I'm really proud of how it turned out. We watched a recording of the concert in class and when mine came up, I noticed that the tempo was a bit too fast and started critiquing myself harshly. Yeah, bad habit of mine haha. (Also I was the piano accompaniment for my friends who did a duet of City of Stars from La La Land!) After the concert ended, I was trying to find my parents when a mother came up to me. And what she said will honestly stick with me forever. "Young woman, I don't know if you believe in God, but your performance was simply heavenly. Thank you for sharing your talent with us tonight." Even as an atheist, I took that to heart and almost teared up. I've always wanted my music to impact people, and that night I'd truly embarked on my journey to become a full-fledged musician. So I guess the moral of the story is... Even when things get rough, if you're passionate enough about something, it will payoff somehow :')
