"s-s-son," she whispered. "p-please take my..." she took another breath. "yes?" he said, tears wetting his fur. she slowly motioned to her bandana, her blue-and-white striped bandana that she had never taken off for his whole life. more water clung to his eyes, and he gently took it off her. "pu-put i-t on." he tied the bandana around his neck. his mother put her paw on him, and closed her eyes.
