I recently got a tablet for doing digital art on, and here is my first proper attempt. I used a pencil sketch I saw in a book as a reference for the original paper drawing, then traced it on Krita, which is a great free art software. I then added colour (also on Krita). I used a Huion tablet on Krita, using Jake Spicer's art as a reference image. If you are interested in starting out with digital art, Krita is free and has everything you need in terms of the program, and you can get cheap tablets from Huion.
