This is my first attempt at making a danmaku game. It’s a remake of one of my favourite touhou final bosses, Yuyuko Saigyouji. Controls: Arrows to move, space to fire. This version’s for playing as Marisa Kirisame. Marisa’s play style consists of: Powerful, straight-ahead barrages of magic-type bullets. She's also the fastest moving character. Yuyuko’s attack style is (with HP levels) 2000-1800: General Barrages. Keep moving, and try to keep close to Yuyuko. 1800-1600: Flower Sign: Venus Flytrap. Yuyuko will fire two ‘trap lines’ of red danmaku, then fire a barrage of bouncing yellow danmaku. Tactics vary with characters. 1600-1400: Border Sign: Eternal Night. Yuyuko turns into a fan, and releases three large blue bouncing Danmaku, and systematically releases red danmaku directly below herself. All while bouncing yellow danmaku is around. If you do well enough at the last spellcard, you can avoid having to deal with this spellcard entirely. 1400-1200: Flower Sign: Poppy Dispersal. Red danmaku walls are formed, and yellow danmaku scatterguns from Yuyuko. She’s moving all the time, so you’ll have to time your limited shots well. 1200-1000: Border Sign: Butterfly Dream. Yuyuko’s a fan again, releasing randomly dispersed blue and yellow danmaku. To keep you on your toes, red danmaku is released towards you, so keep moving. 1000-800: Flower Sign: Lily Parabola. There’s a curved danmaku swarm heading straight for you! Don’t panic, keep moving, and try to find an opening. Oh yeah, watch out for the all the other danmaku too. 800-600: Flower sign: Petal Wall. This time a wall of danmaku surrounds Yuyuko then spirals outwards. Of course, there’s other things to avoid, like the yellow barrages headed straight for you. 600-400: Flower Sign: Calm before the storm. This routine seems vaguely familiar… and a little too easy. 400-0: Border Sign: Border of Life. An endurance test for the finale… not that hard, but you’ll have to withstand it for twice as long.
