Okay, this runs WAAAYYYY faster online than I thought it would. It's like 10x faster than it was offline. I don't know if this will cause any glitches, or change the experience of the game, but you can download to see how it originally was. I was looking through my old Scratch projects and decided to finish up the ones I never published. I worked on this for many months and then just stopped to move onto other things. The reason I haven't been on Scratch is that I've been using other languages like Flash. I just recently put on the last finishing touches and decided to put this one online. I used to want to do other levels, but now I'm too busy to keep working on it. However, if enough people love it and comment wanting more, I may consider working on it some more! There may be a few bugs still left in the game, I don't think that I sorted everything out. Anyway, here are the instructions: You are the Scratch cat, fighting evil as you punch, kick and shoop da whoop your way through bosses and highly pixelated versions of your favorite Scratch characters! Instructions: CONTROLS use the arrow keys to move, duck, and jump. Use the Z and X keys to attack. Z is kick, and X is punch. COMBOS To preform a combo, like a shoop da whoop, hit the controls in a specific order. Try to figure out as many combos as you can. If you're stumped, download and go through the code to get some hints! FEATURES AT TOP If you look at the top of the screen, you will see a mix of numbers and letters. SCORE At the far left, there is a group of eight numbers. This is your score. You get points when you defeat enemies and win levels. The amount of points depends on the difficulty of the enemy/level. You can post your score in the comments to show how well you did. COINS To the right of your score you should see a flashing oval next to an X and two numbers. This is your amount of coins. coins appear after you defeat an enemy, and are randomly placed around a level. To get a coin, simple walk over it. When you get a coin, it replenishes some of your health(see YOUR HEALTH BAR). You can post your coins in the comments too, because they show how well you did as well. LIVES To the right of the coins, you will see the head of the Scratch cat, another X, and a number. This is your number of lives. When you die, you lose a life and restart the level. When you run out of lives, as in get your number of lives down to zero, and then die again, you get a game over and lose. You can also gain lives by finding a Scratch cat head anhd walking over it. You can also gain a life for every 500,000 points and every 25 coins. YOUR HEALTH BAR Finally, to the far right, you should see a bar with the word HEALTH over it. This is your health bar. when you are attacked by an enemy, you don't just die immediately. You have to lose all your health first. When you are attacked, your health bar will flash red, to warn you. Your character will also flash red. You will also lose health. The more powerful the attack, the more health you lose. when you get down to half of your health, the green stuff in the bar will turn yellow. If you continue to lose health, it will turn red. Finally, If you lose all your health and die, the whole health bar will turn red. If you get a coin(see COINS), it will replenish a bit of your health, and if you get a health pack (see HEALTH PACKS) it will restore all of your health. If you get one of these, your health bar will flash green to notify you. ENEMIES There are all sorts of enemies, and some are harder than others. NORMAL ENEMIES Normal enemies are all redrawn, pixelated versions of characters that come with Scratch. There are many different kinds, as you will see. Enemies have an amount of health, just like you. Their health appears over them when they are being damaged. They also flash red when attacked. There are two ways to hurt an enemy. 1. attack them with a punch, kick or combo. 2. jump on them. enemies will also attack you. Their attacks range from long distance shooting, to just sitting there, waiting for you to touch them. When enemies die, you get some points(see SCORE) and a coin(see COINS). BOSSES Bosses are basically much harder versions of enemies. they are usually not based on a Scratch character. You often need to find a clever way to defeat them, because they are much smarter, and tougher than normal enemies. there is a boss at the end of each level. You can tell that a boss is a boss by their health bar. Instead of just saying HEALTH, it will say BOSS HEALTH. OTHER MISCELLANEOUS THINGS HEALTH PACKS Health packs are randomly placed around a level. They are white, with a red plus on them. They heal you completely. SECRETS There are a bunch of secrets hidden in this game. Can you find them all? The music is from the original Super Mario Bros game. I drew all the art, but it was inspired by the scratch characters.(except the coin, that's from mario, too.) KNOWN BUGS- Game over screen sometimes doesn't work Rolling backwards will result in weirdly flying upwards You may sometimes wall jump off of game borders Boss may sometimes not drop bombs. If you click multiple times in the title screen, the opening sequence may play twice. Since I don't do much stuff on Scratch anymore, you can visit my website at unknownthingamabob.com to see other stuff that I'm doing, including Flash games!
