Not many people are aware that this horrible disease exists, even though it is a terrible thing to suffer. DIPG is caused by a tumor in the brain. As a result, the tumor disrupts several functions of the brain. Researchers and doctors have yet to discover a cure for DIPG. Very few of the children who receive DIPG treatment live for even a couple of years! DIPG does not get enough attention as several other types of cancer do. I strongly encourage you to do as much as you can to help these unfortunate children. To raise DIPG Awareness in Scratch, you can: -Post projects that educate viewers/readers on DIPG -Give examples of what you can do to raise awareness/help -Talk about the Lemon Face Challenge! The Lemon Face Challenge is done by several people to raise awareness for DIPG. In the LFC someone eats an entire piece/wedge of lemon. They then can post a picture of their face, puckered from the bitter taste of the lemon. This is somewhat similar to the ice-bucket challenge, which raised awareness for ALS.
