Koo Koo Kanga Roo is a 2004 and onwards American comedic dance-pop duo from Minneapolis, Minnesota, consisting of vocalists Bryan Atchison and Neil Olstad. While their content involves a lot of childhood interests such as dinosaurs, letters of the alphabet, hopscotch, etc. they hope that their work will be enjoyed by all ages. Their main focus is on providing fun and audience participation during their live concerts, such as getting the audience to follow a little dance move and sing along with verses. All of their music is free except for their Greatest Hits album (Rad-trospective) and their Whoopity Woop album, as their music is intended solely for their live performances. They want their audience to be able to know the words to sing along. They have played before large venues as the opening act to popular folk punk artists Frank Turner and The Smith Street Band, however the punk and rock audience did not react very well to their seemingly out-of-place appearance. In 2013 the duo published a child's book titled "Unicorns R Real" and they also have a song of that name.
