SPACE So many songs called MAMA what--- okay so here's the backstory: Rainer padded across the dull dirt. Everything here is dead. ‘Why is it all dead? It’s as if someone came through and burned it all, then stopped the fire after it all burned.’ he thought. Why did he decided to come here? Well, to meet a “majestic one” who could tell all truths. CRACK! He turned around. Nothing was there except a broken stick. Who had broken it, though? He sniffed the area. No smell. It was probably his imagination. He must’ve been going crazy in this desert of a place. He closed his eyes and shook his head. Go away, crazy thoughts. It’s crazy enough I believed that insane elder.... Rainer then opened his eyes. There was a rock in front of him. How did it get here? Was he seeing things again? Surely he would have saw it in the distance. He closed his eyes again, and then look up. The rock was still there, but he could see a dark figure appearing on top. Rainer gasped. It was the sacred one his elders told him about. They described the sacred one like a shadow, with tentacles flailing around him. What was he? A crognure? He didn’t look like one. Crognures had gills sticking out like whiskers, and tails like a fish. “Who are you? And why have you come here?” the odd creature asked Rainer. Rainer paused, his eyes wide. Rainer couldn’t think of words at this point. The creature spoke to him! How incredible! “I-I’m… Rainer… I’ve been sent by the elders to ask you an important question..” Rainer stammered. The creature raised an eyebrow, and slouched. It put on a half-smile and started to laugh. He closed his eyes and started laughing harder. Why is he laughing? Is he laughing at how.. Pathetic I look? “The elders sent you? You don’t look like a.. What do you Korraks call it these days?” the creature said as it jumped down from the rock. “A prophet? Administer?” he laughed. Is this a joke? “You look too young! All the.. ‘Prophets’ I’ve ever met have been much older than you! Are they sending the younger ones so I’ll have an assistant longer?”. Assistant? What assistant? “Are you saying they sent me.. To work for you?” Rainer asked. He took a small step back, getting ready to run. He wasn’t gonna work for this.. Thing! “Of course! Did you think I was just gonna answer something and let you expose it to the world? Of course not!” the creature laughed. Rainer started backing up more. He wasn’t gonna be bossed around by this odd creature. “Ah-ah-ah! Where do you think you’re going?” the creature growled. “You’re staying with me..” Rainer ran. He wasn’t going to do this. All of a sudden, he fell. His legs grew weak. But why? The creature must have done this. It laughed. “First of all, you must know my name before we start any kind of business.” the thing laughed. “I’m Hendrix and I bet I look funny to you. With my.. Dark fur.. And tentacle tail,” Rainer opened his lips to say something, but he had nothing to say. “You are Rainer, the elders informed me. I know you’re a korrak, obviously. With your.. Bright colors, and seaweed like.. Fur?”. Rainer was shaking of fear. How did it know all of this? Why did the elders tell him who I was? “Why can’t we be friends, hm?” Hendrix said. Rainer looked Hendrix in the eye. “Is it because.. I’m different?” Rainer looked away. Rainer guessed he had judged Hendrix because he was.. Different. Rainer opened his mouth to speak and said, “I guess I did judge you, and I’m sorry. I was just.. Scared, that’s all. I guess we kinda have to be friends since I have to be your.. Assistant?” Hendrix nodded and smiled. “I can tell we’re gonna be good friends,” Hendrix said as he let Rainer move again. “Let’s go!” Go where? Rainer thought. Suddenly, Rainer felt the ground shake. There was a city-like place forming around them. Rainer gasped and Hendrix smiled. “Here, you belong to the regal family,” Hendrix smiled.
