I colored in Sonic to look like regular sonic and then modified the shoes to be soap shoes (like in SA2) , and then decided to add battle scars and a gun. After coming up with that, I had the idea of a post-apocalyptic world With a metal ground, red sky, smoke in the air, and a nuke slowly crashing towards Earth. I then put in Crisis City for the music.
