This shows the change that Urbanization made. The more room a side takes up on the screen is how much of the population of America is living there. After 1870, the population of urban areas just got bigger and bigger. This is not an actual visual of what America looked like, just their population. It does show how the buildings in the cities got taller and taller as new inventions were created. Though this does not show the causes and effects directly happening, this a general overview of what happened between rural and urban populations in 1870-1920, and then what it looks like today.
