Instructions (also in-game): use the arrow keys or WASD to move, up arrow or W to jump, down arrow or S to pound (doesn't defeat enemies), left and right arrows or A and D to move left and right. The number on the left is the coins and the number on the right is the score. The number below the score is the highest score. The shop is above the play button.
