----------------- Meow!! =^● ⋏ ● ^= Happy Late Pi Day!! XD My internet went out yesterday so I couldn't upload this..but anyway, Pi is such an amazing number that everyone should know about! If your math teacher never thought about doing this for Pi day, be sure to tell them about it. ----------------------------IMPORTANT INFO--------------------------------------- (Space) (Instructions are also inside the project, but with pics) Gather Your Materials! You'll need: -Scissors -String -Ruler -Calculator -A round circle object of some sort 1. Measure your circumference of your object. Wrap the string tightly around your circle object until it touches the other end of string. Trim your string if needed, then remove. 2. Measure your diameter of your object. With your string, start at one side of the circle and go to the other side. Trim the string if needed, then remove. 3. Now we are going to measure the pieces of string that we cut earlier. With your ruler, measure on the centimeter side, not the inch side, therefore making your measurement more accurate. Make sure to measure both pieces of string! 3. All you gotta do now is divide your circumference by your diameter using your calculator, or your head! As long as the whole number is 3, you did the experiment correctly! ;D Also, don't be disappointied if you don't get the exact Pi number. The string wont get you the most accurate results anyway. But if you're lucky, you can get the right number! It's all in the name of measuring right. Inspired by my math teacher, 'Smath'! :D (And Pi day, duh) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ♥PusheenCat
