A labadove is a combination of the words "Labrador" and "Dove". The "r" was removed because I'm not an expert at spelling the breeds of dog. "Squup" is a combination of "Squab", a young dove, and "Pup", a young dog. I later realized that I used the pose Mareth is in once before, on another winged, four-legged creature, so I drew her flying, too. There's prolly grammatical errors in the text below.
________________LABADOVES canis columbidae "the dog dove" LOCATION Contrary to what one might assume, lavadoves are commonly found near places of chaos. One might find them near construction sites and traffic accidents. In this way, they take after pigeons, another member of the family columbidae. They're sometimes viewed as unlucky animals. DIET The diet of a lavadove is simple, consisting of greenery. They have omnivorous teeth, however. They don't chew, though. They can sometimes be found looking for bugs. Strangely enough, there's never been a recorded instance of a labadove consuming an insect, despite their occasional search for them. FLIGHT Like bees, labadoves should not be able to fly, as they're far too heavy. The current theory is that they somehow lighten themselves in the air. SIGHT Labadoves cannot see. They appear to navigate via sonar waves. This has not been tested. OLIVE BRANCHES Some labadoves have a strange tendency to gravitate towards olive branches. They're frequently sighted toting them around in their claws. BONES Some labadoves seem to gravitate towards bones. They carry them around in their mouths, and often drop them. The labadoves who gravitate towards bones don't display the same attraction to olive branches, and vice versa.
