it doesn't work unless you go to see inside and broadcast message 1 however it has many variables that can be changed for changing the feel of your game and many different ways to build your levels ... aside from scrolling to properly scroll you have to build the entire game around it
this is just a template for luke and me to build on to for platformers instead of using other peoples work
