Bullying takes many forms, from anonymous online interactions to face-to-face confrontation. Sometimes it’s harassment, sometimes it’s the consistent insult every once in a while. Bullying can come from strangers, people who you don’t like, or even from friends. Rarely is bullying physical, but that doesn’t mean the victim isn’t hurt. Words /do/ hurt. They hurt in the form of self-confidence issues. They hurt by giving stress to people who can’t take any more. They hurt by giving or worsening mental illnesses like anxiety, depression, or eating disorders. They also can cause physical pain, a bully leading someone to self-harm due to the intense emotional trauma of being bullied. No matter what, bullying is NOT acceptable. To force that kind of negativity onto someone is unforgivable, pushing a poor self-image into their head until they don’t like anything about themselves anymore. If you see someone being bullied, stand up, speak out! Rome wasn’t built in a day, and one man didn’t do all the work, either. Together, with time and hard effort, we CAN end bullying! Take the fight into your own hands. If not for yourself, for those who are coming after you. We control the future, it’s putty in our hands. We build the world our children will someday grown up in; lets build them world without bullies!
