Mermay!

Instructions

I decided to do Mermay this year, so here it is! Arrow keys to go to next and previous slides. Finished now, it's more of following the Mermay prompts, but did 1: Snooty. So, a sketch of a snooty mermaid. 2: Precocious. In honor of the Battle of Hogwarts, she is a Ravenclaw mermaid. 3: Racing. I decided to experiment with a bit of a "sketchy" style. 4: Star Wars Day: Hera Syndulla in her outfit in "The Occupation" as a mermaid. 5: Fluid: This was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw fluid as a prompt. 6: Rocked: A mermaid rocking (sea)horse, and a little mermaid. 7: Pirate: This one took me a while, but was really fun! 8: The prompt was masculine, but I couldn't figure out a way to use it, so here's a sunset-like thing with a mer-person. 9: Wanderer: This was really fun to draw. 10: Sweetheart: Orignially a paper drawing, but Scratch wouldn't upload it, so I did a little chibi like sort of style experiment. 11: Rebel: Sabine Wren from Star Wars Rebels, in her season 3 outfit. Also, new art style! I've wanted to try this shading for a while, and finally got around to doing it. This took me a long time, but I'm happy with how it turned out. 12: Strange: The first thing that came to my mind was a mer-witch, so here she is! I continued with the new art style. I really like it, and luckily, it takes less time when you don't have to find a reference picture. 13: Golden: So, a golden mermaid. Tried a different angle with the same new art style. 14: Threaten: Mermaid warrior. 15: Behemoth: I got a bit carried away with the prompt. 16: Urgent: I kinda failed at following this prompt. It was supposed to be a mermaid carrying an urgent message, but instead, some kind of mermaid appeared in my art that does not look urgent. 17: The prompt was supposed to be propose, but I couldn't figure out anything to do with that, so I did a random mermaid. 18: Rockstar: I had a lot of fun with this one. 19: Feels: Joy from Inside Out. (Splash came up with the idea for this one) 20: Foreigner: I had grand plans with this one to do multiple mermaids from multiple countries, but I couldn't find a good reference photo for most of them, so there's just a Chinese mermaid. 21: Sweet: Originally on paper, except Scratch did not want to upload it, so I did a quick little experiment with a sort of chibi style. 22: Weekend: Not exactly very weekend-themed. Maybe she's ready for the weekend?? 23: Pet: A sort of sea sheep?? 24: Approach: Ahsoka Tano in a combination of her Rebels and new Clone Wars outfits, in honor of the return of Clone Wars. 25: Competition: Mermaids jousting on giant sea horses. 26: Frustration: Playing around with expressions. 27: Western: A seahorse with reins. 28: Lonely: I always thought that a Medusa-like mermaid would be cool, so here it is! 29: Daddy: I was rushing, so it's a bit less detailed. 30: Captured: Originally, I was going to have her caught in a net, but that was taking too long to draw, so it's just a rope, 31: Self-Portrait: This one was so much fun! I really enjoyed drawing it and I like how it turned out.
