if you couldn't tell, this is a (late) entry for @Rosyda 's art contest with the theme of summer, in the traditional category (drawn on paper) i put plastic on the sunglasses to make them shiny but my lamp didnt want to work so you cant really see it... but yeah READ BELOW:: (please) -click to fade the thumbnail -press space to see the drawing process: 1. the first slide is the original sketch (revised obviously, it would look like a donkey if it wasn't) 2. the next one is after i colored the sunglasses, lips, and lower part of the face 3. i forgot to take a picture of the hair process so i did that after i finished the face and the left side (I will explain the shiny later) 4. adding the highlights to the hair before adding the depth and darker colors 5. the product after the hair is finished 6. this is the final product after touching up the skin and adding shading to the whole thing, and after adding the summer icons near the top of her head along with the plastic (yes, plastic) which is making the sunglasses shiny, just like real ones. 7. this is the final product, but better lighting and worse-ish quality 8. cindy (my oc that i used) with her sunglasses while hula dancing (her hair is messy i know) 9. this was my brainstorming page.... dont ask. i originally started on this entry way back in the beginning of june, but i was really lazy and i didn't start until like a week after, and then it took like two weeks to actually draw and color cindy. i was busy with school and other garbage, (also art block) so it took a while. but whenever i got bored, i would doodle on the brainstorming page because why not. this was all done in my sketchbook so yeah BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!:: Materials used: Colored pencils: -Faber Castell watercolor pencils (i used them like normal pencils) -my trusty dusty UBrands pencils from @-anonymitea- -Staedler colored pencils -Used on the hair, face, and summer icon thingies Markers: -Ohuhu alcohol based markers (the real deal (not really) -Used on the sunglasses Plastic: -Random leftover plastic from a father's day card i was about to throw away but then had a aha moment -Used on the sunglasses to make them shiny and reflective AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST MY MOST AMAZING MECHANICAL PENCIL, AMELIA! signing off, i am emu.
i also suck at making oc's (what) so i usually just draw something over and over again and call it an oc for me, summer means going to summer camp and having to stand around in the blazing sun while putting on disgusting sun screen that feels like bird poop. The only thing that saved me was my pink fuzzy sunglasses. thank you. <3 her name is Cindy, i drew her in my other project, but i never drew her realistically or colored, so she looks different. Trust me: she is Cindy I admit that i did take "inspiration" from a picture of this random girl wearing sunglasses, but I personalized it to be cindy so yeah. I dont know why but i always imagined her wearing rose gold (not really rose gold but more hot, vivid, striking, insert shocking word here, pink) sunglasses.... you know the drill, follow @-anonymitea- sorry for typing so much i can submit this as an essay >:) i dont know why but i used a lot of parentheses ok im done i swear (no im not) you see there i go again why are you still reading this ok bye cheese
