How to play CraftCat, a crafting survival game: [Controls] Arrow Keys- Move in 4 directions E- Open Inventory U- Use Inventory Thing (Item) or Material C- Craft Item - you don't use up three wood when you open the crafting menu, but 3 wood is required to use the crafting menu. Space- Interact with various objects (like trees or ponds) Note: Also, on the title screen, to switch from keyboard controls (listed above) or mobile controls, you can click the green flag twice and see a box with "keyboard controls (input)" appear. Click on the box to change from keyboard controls to mobile controls, so you can play on a touch-screen device or just use your mouse to play. ---More details below--- [Introduction] Welcome to the world of CraftCat, a game where you must try to survive for as long as possible... before running out of Energy! Craft useful food items, tools, and utilities to help you while you chop trees and interact with the environment. Find rocks to get stone from, and use that to craft powerful tools--but, be careful! You only have 100 Energy to start out with, and will need to find food sources.. but, figuring out what to craft will also be required. No crafting guides are listed in-game, so collect resources and experiment! To play the 'unlimited resources mode', you'll need to first have started over (pressing B on the title screen and clicking the green flag after the message appears about clicking the green flag to go back). You cannot save your high score in unlimited resources mode.
Note: this is a work-in-progress version of CraftCat with many more features that have been added, and may have some of these features changed/removed. Here are the changes that have been made so far Please check the Update Log on the title screen for information on various updates. My personal record is 2364 points. If you have a Scratch Account, sign in and try to get the global high score! Updates: 11-21-2018: Fixed a bug where Jars/Stone Swords and maybe other items were locked from crafting. (version 1.0.4 - beta) 11-21-2018: Made it so in Hard Mode, a new option when you first start a level, you lose more energy from trying to chop trees and break rocks. (version 1.0.4 - beta) Also, you now start with 5 "some sort of cat food", so Hard Mode is slightly easier to get started in. 11-20-2018: Adding a hard mode feature. It won't be fully implemented until later this week, I'm assuming. This hard mode will have: 1. Your Energy goes down for every day that has passed, and repeats... Can you survive on day 40 with only 500 Energy?! 2. It costs more Energy to craft newer items, like bottles and swords. (Now costs 20 energy to make a sword instead of 0.5 energy... talk about going up exponentially!) 3. Now it costs 3 energy to make a Sharp Stone instead of 0.5 Energy. (don't know why that's separate, but it is!) Also, despite hard mode, adding a new Update Log that you'll be able to read. (version 1.0.4 - beta) Hard mode also makes you lose more energy from slimes! 11-18-2018: After adding the Stone Sword item data 6 days ago, the Stone Sword finally works as a weapon to fight off slimes with! If you are wondering why the Stone Sword is a better weapon than the normal axe or SuperAxe or its upgrade(s), it's because the Stone Sword gives you 4 points for defeating slimes instead of 2! (version 1.0.3 - beta) 11-12-2018: Added a 1/100 chance that trees drop 10 total wood instead of 1. Slightly updated inventory icons for mobile controls. Also added some custom blocks in the crafting GUI sprite, with comments to describe how they work. (version 1.0.3 - beta) 10-10-2018: Added a "World High Score" feature! Can you try to get the best score... across the world? Note: Game only supports English as a language right now. This is a small update to add the World High Score, but it's going to be a challenge to get the world record. As of this update, it's at 0. 6-28-2018: (It's a very small update... ) Made it so you can buy/sell Sharp Stones properly. Before, you couldn't buy or sell them. Also, changed the title screen's glow when you click the green flag--now it's less intense. You can use turbo mode (shift+click green flag) to skip the title screen glowing, also. (version 1.0.2 - beta) 6-27-2018: Added Sharp Stone as a craftable material! It could be possible to create more items using sharp stones. Also fixed some of the graphics to match this version. Also changed a message for if you want to start a level when infinite resource mode data was found. Added a hidden bonus star goal...(version 1.0.2 - beta) 6-25-2018: Added new Things to the game! Now, craft a Jar and Lantern! What might you be able to put in a jar? What could a lantern be used for? (version 1.0.2 - beta) 6-22-2018: Added a version number/variable to the title screen. Now you can see what version this version of CraftCat is! Also edited the game description above to make some parts of the game clearer.
