Below are a few facts about the Swahili people. --------------------------------------FACTS---------------------------------------------- The Swahili people are referred to as the Waswahili, while their language, Swahili, is known as Kiswahili. - The Waswahili originated from the areas of Kenya, Tanzania, and Mozambique. - Today, the Swahili people consist of about 500,000 people. - The word "Swahili" is derived from the Arabic word "Sawāhil (سواحل)", which means "coasts".
