This is a poem I wrote for a contest The ending is kinda sucky I know
You held me close and comforted me, Told me I'd be okay, Told me not to worry You buried my bruised face in the folds of your coat Enfolding me In the smell of firewood Discarded dreams, childhood fantasies Nolgastia enveloped me Pulling me away, Away from reality Where even though i was surrounded by air It felt like I couldn't even breathe You took my hand and pulled me into my imagination A forest of wild wonders where i was free to wander wild To look at the stars, The smatters of lost hopes dotted against an endless crevasse of darkness yet to be filled But Only for a moment Before cold, hard hands dragged me away Away from your smiles and your loving embrace And as the setting sun hit my face I cried a river Of burning lemonade
