Yey. I joined an art competition. And I'm... 99.9% sure I;m going to get last place. Um. Right. I... didn't quite do the scene right? (more info in the notes and credits) I spent round 1 hour on this. This is a scene from the book I wrote called Wild. Here's the part I drew: "Reggie ∞ Oh gosh, her hair is so messy. It was up and down, all around that universe of hers. A tangled mess—like her. And me. Like the wild. That grin is all over her goofy face, so I smile back and say, “What’s that great mood for?” Like a candle blown away in the wind, that happy, once-in-a- lifetime beam disappeared. Immediately, I regret my words. I regret them. I’ve never seen her so happy, that thrill lighting up her eyes like I’ve never seen before. I’ve never seen her like that. I’ve never seen that always a bit subdued look on her face fade, and this time, I’d seen it, for a few seconds of my life. A few seconds. It could’ve lasted so much, so much longer. I regret it. Carrie ∞ “Nevermind,” I say, something cracking, splitting, inside of me. “Forget it.” I can see Reggie’s lip starting to tremble. “Shhh,” I whisper. “It’s okay. Just… too much you know?” He nods, sniffling. “Here,” I say. Gently, I nudge him outside. We walk up a trail toward a hill bending over the horizon. Clear, clean skies. A sheer drop is right below our feet; I sit down and curl my tail around our backs. Reggie leans into me. Streaks of yellow, red, purple are painted across the sky. Stars twinkle their last and fade away. A glowing ball of fire rises up from the darkness. Silhouettes in the wind, I think as the sunset brings a beauty I’ve never seen before to this life. Mochi ∞ Opening my eyes to find no one here, panic flashes through me for a moment. I calm down. Deep breath in, out. I lift my wings and pound them. I’ve grown so much stronger out here with the billowing winds crashing into me, the leafy trees whipping away. Seeing their tracks, I breeze my feathers along them and follow. They sit in front of the rising sun. I join them." Carrie is the horse, Reggie is the dog, Mochi is the bird.
