Edit January 18 2019: This is once again, old. Please check out http://fav.me/dcvigom to see the current one After much thought, I decided to change my OC Vela's original outfit to something more fit for a goddess. The quality here is terrible, so if you would like to see it in FHD, visit my DeviantArt: https://www.deviantart.com/waterliily/art/Vela-OC-Reference-752941984?ga_submit_new=10%3A1530736816 The character belongs to me. @-LordKraken- was a big influence in design and backstory though. Music composition are purely by @-LordKraken-, please go check her out! Music used in this project is Moonflower Melody (my personal favorite!) Below will be everything about her, prepare to read a lot! Additional closeups of any details can be requested and will be considered. ~~ Initial bio ~ Name: Vela Orientation: Goddess Cultures: Japanese, with a bit of Victorian (xD) Age: Indefinite Spirit animal: Wolf Sacred flower: Moonflower Abilities: Flight, control of the wind, ability to speak to wolves. A quick note: Vela can transform into a wolf during a full moon. However she will loose her wings at this time. Music that goes nicely with her (as of now): Moonflower Melody, Raindrop, Moonlight Sonata (first movement), and Clair De Lune ~~ Artist's notes about the character design~ - Hair is pulled back into a ponytail. - Waviness of hair can depend on the artist. - Vela has three main hairstyles. The first is the one depicted in the reference with straighter hair which reflects off of Japanese goddess hair. Other styles include shorter and curlier hair pulled in a ponytail for Victorian depictions of her and her hair let down to show a more innocent, childish, and playful version. - Her kimono has a faint, moonflower print. - The cape-like drapes behind her clothes are sown onto the back of her kimono. - Vela's eyes can sometimes be shown with no pupil. If it does show one, the pupil is similar to those of a wolf. ~~ Backstory: Vela was born into the Gods and Goddesses of Japan. For the longest time she stayed happy there, until she committed a sin. No one noes for sure what happened. Possibly killed a human innocent? Led a fellow goddess to her demise? Whatever she did, she was cast out of the Heavens until she showed that she was worthy to return once more. But when she was cast out of the Heavens, she was cast out of Japan itself too. Japanese priests warned the population of the dangers of her and she was forced to retreat somewhere else. This brought her to Europe, when the Victorian Era was in session. She adapted to the English tradition and Victorian clothing until she was accepted into a priests' family. Note that she depicted herself as a 16 year old girl at this time. As a priest's daughter, she would only wear Japanese clothing, as this was her main religion. She WAS the religion after all! Nothing else was easy for her. She was an outcast at school, in public, in society. The gods of Japan made sure that she was punished wherever she went. Eventually she couldn't stand it anymore and turned to the only person who could offer potential help - the Witch. In return for her goddess form, the Witch wanted payment of some sort. A deadly herb, possibly an unobtainable weapon, or the body of an important figure. Whatever it was, Vela saw it delivered. Eventually she was forced to sacrifice someone she loved, and cared about. Her foster parents. Vela almost scarified one of them, but never did. She saw the evil in her doings just before the execution. The Witch refused her immortality after this, so Vela will forever live in darkness and regret. Finding Toralu and any other main events of her life will be kept private for now.
