Story time! 1. I know no one there. It happens every few years, but the last time I went to one, I was four. So out of the 150+ people there, I knew about... 15. 2. Oh, and they put me in charge of wrangling the little kids, so now I have to somehow teach them how to make drums out of paper plates. 3. On day two, I signed up for whitewater rafting. It was for 8 and up, so I thought it wouldn't be scary. I was right. It was terrifying. Everyone else looked like they were having fun, though. 4. When I got back, I was shivering from the cold river water. We had ridden back on a bus with open windows with our wet gear on for 45 minutes. That is the coldest I have ever been in my life. 5. I also had discovered I was allergic to pine pollen! So this entire time, my thought was swollen and itchy. (And yawning hurt.) 6. That night at dinner, we took the picture. I was already feeling a little under the weather, so I looked terrible in it. (That picture will probably go on our mantle, and all of our relatives'. Joy.) 7. Oh, and did I mention, the beds there were terrible. There really wasn't any way to sleep comfortably on them. My family got two rooms with two beds each, so I ended up with my Dad, (who snores,) as my roommate, while my Mom got her own room. 8. On day 3, things really started to crumble. I woke up with a sorta-fever, and I had to go to a "Teddy Bear Picnic" to wrangle some more kids. (Also, Sweden lost to England.) 9. While I was at sleep-a-way camp, my Mom signed me up for the dunking booth. Normally, I would have been mildly annoyed, but now, with a fever, and just coming back from an unsuccessful nap, I was very against it. Well, I did it anyway. It was cold and horrible, and I banged up my elbow and back along the way. Add on a light rain, and it was a recipe for miserableness. I take it back, THAT was the coldest I have ever been in my life. 10. And now, the plane ride home. Honestly, the plane ride was fine, but no one wants to sit next to a sick person, and my ears wouldn't pop, so that was annoying. To total it up: -Terrifying WWR -Fever -Newfound allergies -Bruises -AND a dose of extreme cold! and that's how I spent my weekend! How about you?
Experience/Story: all me. :(
