This is just a drawing of a flamboyant cuttlefish :) What is a Flamboyant Cuttlefish? The flamboyant cuttlefish is small, only growing to 8 centimeters! It is also known for changing to bright colors, despite dull surroundings. It can do this because it is the only poisonous cuttlefish and one of only 3 poisonous cephalopods . The Flamboyant Cuttlefish is one of the species that use hypnosis by changing their color and pattern rapidly to create a hypnotizing effect on their to make it freeze before eating it. Unlike most other cuttlefish, it does not swim often because its cuttlebone does not provide enough buoyancy. Instead, it has learned to use its fringe and texture changing as feet. It can still swim, but only for short periods of time.
