If I had been home I would have pulled out my old copy of "Turtle Geometry" by Hal Abelson and Andrea diSessa and used it for inspiration. I'm on vacation, but luckily I have a copy of "Make Your Own Algorithmic Art" by Tariq Rashid on my Kindle. It has some great projects designed in JavaScript. The Spirograph project inspired me to implement it a bit differently in Scratch and play a little.
