Use your mouse! If you're interested in remixing this with your own art, check out my comment inside about how you can do that :) == How I made it == (1) Painted each layer of the landscape on different pieces of paper (2) Cut out each of the paintings (3) Photographed each layer individually, on top of a colored piece of paper to make the background easy to erase. (4) Loaded the layers into Scratch as costumes of a sprite. Used the magic wand tool to erase the backgrounds and then resized, rotated, and repositioned them as necessary. (5) Added parallax! (See comments in code for how that works in this project.)
I was inspired by the prompt of Art Week to try making a type of art unlike anything I've made before. I wanted to make some physical art interactive with Scratch, so I combined a type of Scratch art (parallax) that I've never done before with a medium of physical art that I haven't done in a long time (watercolor.) I chose to make a desert landscape because I grew up next to some desert-y mountains. I thought that watercolor would be an interesting choice to make a desert-- on one hand, it works perfectly because it's good for making muted colors and interesting textures but on the other hand, deserts don't have a lot of water! :P == Credit == I got a lot of inspiration from other parallax projects on Scratch, including this one by @-Minti-https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/227096755/#editor Thanks to my friend Mariana for the watercolors!
