The hands are said to be in a different reality. In that reality it's just the hands and floor going on forever. The sky had collapsed many decades ago. The two floating hands are attached to each other. It's sentient. Some say there are crisp remains on the floor. No one has ever made it out alive. They say it's warm too warm when you are about to be transported into that reality.
I spent about 30 mins just on the hands (due to me having a good version though the sprite maker being crap and me using a mouse) Note this is not sans just saying be-fire you mention that in the comments.
