I don't care if you're 10 and try out for a 16-year-old, as long as you don't sound TOO young. - No need for commenting whether you want to audition - just audition! - You don't have to be the gender of the character if you can sound like that gender, but it will be easier if you are the right gender. - I will comment on your project once you share it.
