Short story, didn't take me that long. Oops, I forgot to read it over...well I guess it's too late. I decided to write about wolves because during the school year I had to write a "magazine" about something, anything, and I chose wolves. So I knew something about them! Here is the story, or you can read it from the project. His snout lowered to the ground and his eyes, a bright green were wide as he searched for some kind of sustenance. He knew that Fawn, one of the wolves in the Pack who had recently had pups, enjoyed hares and other small animals that they only hunted in Winter because there was nothing else. So he continued to sniff as his gray fur turned black in the shadows of the trees. His snout never left the ground and he forced himself to avoid a lost, large deer who was already exhausted to continue the search for Fawn’s favorite foods. The two had been mates for a few months now, and had only gotten one new Pack member, Slither, who had to stay back and guard Fawn. His emerald-green eyes widened as he smelled a plump rabbit. It was resting in a small opening where the sun beat down on it’s relaxed fur. The grass was lush, unlike the kind that grew in small, dying clumps within the great oaks. Hares were harder to tire out, so the best he could do was pounce on it. He flexed his muscles and lowered his front paws, mimicking the way he had seen big cats do it. He wiggled his rump and pushed his chin into his paws. And when the hare was close enough, he pushed with his front and back paws simultaneously to send him into the air. He landed neatly on the food and dragged it back home. Slither would have to find something for herself.
