To play the drum pads, just click the pad. it's simple as that. What makes this project different from others like it is this: It is 100% customizable. =================== Basics -As I said, to play each pad, click on it -To change between the 3 kits, use the arrow buttons on the top right. They are as follows: 1. Acoustic Kit 2. Percussion kit (Bongos, Claves, Congas, Tambourines, etc) 3. Sampler kit The latter is where you import your own custom sounds, or ones from the Scratch sound library. -To change between the 4 color schemes, use the arrow buttons on the bottom right. They are as follows: 1. Default (Orange on all pads, red on arrow buttons) 2. Cool (Blues) 3. Stripes (Columns alternate between yellow and green) 4. Custom 5. Editor (Import your color scheme from the Editor) ================== Sound Customization First, make sure the kit is the sampler kit. This is so you can preview sounds and help you trim them so the action of the pad is right and not too delayed. Then, go to the editor: -Select the sounds tab on a pad -Delete the sound already there (or the custom_## for the bottom row) -Either choose a sound from the scratch library, record your own sound, or upload a sound. -Name the sound in the tab editor as follows: Custom_#. VERY IMPORTANT. If you do not do this, the pad will not work. The number is (left to right, and top to bottom), the pad number. See sprite names. -Repeat for (yes,) all 9 pads. Each scratch library sound must be unique - no duplicates in a sampler kit. ======================= Customizing the colors: Make sure the color scheme is number 4, the customized one. Now, go into the editor and select the costumes tab. To see how everything looks together, you might want to select costume 5 for each pad first so they are all white. -Select a pad -For that pad, choose the desired color -Select the paint bucket -Color the inside fill of the pad (not the outline, only if you want to) -Do not change the name at all. The pad won't light up otherwise. -Repeat for all 9 pads. Then, select one of the 4 buttons (for each button, make sure you are in costume number 4, the one that says custom) -For that button, choose the desired color -Select the paint bucket -Color the whole button -Do not change the name at all -repeat for each button Then you are all set. There is no (current) way to save a preset. ================== Importing from Drum Pad Editor: -In Editor, copy the save code In the project -Change Kit to "Imported" -Press Space -Enter Code Simple as that.
For best results (ha, that sounds like a cooking recipe), use with a touchscreen device. Turbo mode provides little difference. Up to you. Keyboard Controls: W E R S D F X C V The editor can be found here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/258472304/
