While at first it was for medical research, a small group branched off in the hopes of making hardier, more interesting pets. It all started when the group heard of a litter of glow in the dark kittens had been born by using jelly fish DNA fused with that of the felines. From there, the idea of Starlight Kittens was born. The goal of this new breed was hardy kittens who possessed unique markings. After starting with queens adopted from local shelters to experiment with what needed to be done to obtain the markings. After Zerath, a male kitten born to Seria, helped them figure out how to control where the Jelly Fish DNA was actually triggered they decided to move onto to pedigreed cats. The first litter was from a Norwegian Forest Cat-American Short Hair hybrid. From there they made there way through seven generations, finally reaching the litter that marked what they wanted in the kittens. Sadly, the litter was small, only a single queen, but the kitten was everything they wanted. That was Izzara, a fluffy tabby with light purple streaks that glowed with a pretty shine.
