Insurgent: A Winglet by @ChapterRaptor and @Eclipse_the_Animus (Or what I could fit anyway) Note that I wrote my side of this before reading Book 11 Nightshade watched the Silkwings laughing happily as they dared each other to go deeper into her rainforest home, “Yeah that’s right keep acting as if the war never happened” She drew out her blowpipe and the poison darts she had stolen from a shifty guy from the distant kingdoms and fired, as usual, she was right on target. Spider had been laughing around with some of his friends. Suddenly, a dart had pierced him, and he jumped. He looked up and saw a green dragon. "Seriously? That hurt..." His eyes opened wide. "LEAF-" then the dart took effect, and he fell over.

 The remaining Silkwings stared at her so she gave them a glare of ferocity and reloaded her blowgun two had left and one was stupid enough to remain.

 Cobweb was gaping at Nightshade. "Leafwing?" Then she screamed. 
Run Silkwing, this is my forest and if I hear you tell a single Hivewing about me she slid her claw across the knocked out Silkwing's neck. What happened next was completely unexpected, the Silkwing grabbed a dart from her satchel and stuck herself with it. "Great now I have two dragons to lug around" (Several hours later)

 Spider woke up several hours later "-WING!" he shouted, then shook his head. "Where am I? Whats your name? No touchy the darts, I questioning you! I'm a silkwing!" Spider tried to act imposing, but it was obviously failing.

  "Quit blabbering or I'll dart you again!" This dragon obviously wasn't the sharpest claw on the dragon. "First I'm gonna ask YOU some questions..." she said in an overly sweet and annoyed tone. "What is your allegiance?!? she thought maybe this dragon might not understand the meaning of the word 'allegiance' "Are you a follower or lackey of Queen Wasp?!? 

"One: Don't baby-voice me. Two: Do you really think all Silkwings think of Queen Wasp as their best friend? I despise her. And three: I know what allegiance means. "

Hmmph, this dragon had more brain than she thought perhaps he could be useful. "Well then that's it then, you have the choice to leave and say nothing to anyone continue to live in fear of Her Royal Tyranny or... you can stay here with me and live free from Her Clutches, live here in The Poison Insurgence... 

Spider raised his eyebrow. "Hm. Away from her? No in fear of her anymore? I'm in." He lowered his voice. "Although my sister might say otherwise. Cobweb dislikes the queen, but fears her way too much to rebel." He looked at the tranquillized, wingless silkwing.

 Nightshade smiled but hid it quickly so the Silkwing couldn't see it “She's gonna be asleep for a while, she's close to her metamorphosis right?" before you join me, I should know your name, I would get confused between targets and you if I have to keep calling you Silkwing, She opened her wings and stood tall, I'm Nightshade, welcome to the Insurgence.
 "I'm Spider." he nodded. "Yeah, Cobweb is really close to her metamorphosis, if you look close enough, her wrists are almost golden. It adds a nice splash of colour." 



Spider did not know what his sister's glowing ankles meant. "Well, there's a lot more where that came from, that'll be the colour of her wings, and by the looks of it, her metamorphosis has started a little, well, early.


 Spider nodded. "Should we take her back to the hives?


 "Are you MAD?!" No, you're Insurgent now. It's gonna happen the natural way, did you know that before the war that trees covered Pantala?


" "Well, since Queen Wasp ordered all trees to be cut down, yeah, I could imagine that." Spider said, still looking a little worried about his sister.
 "I don't read much, but once I shook down this really wimpy Hivewing I mean he was about, your size but he was like 15 so, anyway he gave up his satchel which was full of the queen's propaganda posters he was looking for me clearly as if I was a stupid- wait oh Sorry, Umm anyway so apparently he and his friend who was a Silkwing anyway he was on stimulant for defence and when I shot him, he had glowing golden wrists, like your sister. He didn't wake up for 2 weeks by the time I came back to see if he was dead, the same Silkwing was walking around with wings and Flamesilk... "You mean... Cobweb will grow her wings in her sleep, and be a... a Flamesilk?"Spider asked. "I've only heard rumours... Being a Flamesilk would be cool. Though that would mean I'd get locked up in an old cell and make Flamesilk for literally EVERYONE in ALL THE HIVES." He looked at Cobweb. "On second thought, yeah, let's keep her here."
 Nightshade couldn't help but laugh, she couldn't remember the last time she had laughed, but soon cleared her throat "Ahem, she will be an asset to the Insurgence, c'mon let me show you around."
