OLD DESCRIPTION: The vile mother of all evil, born from the insidious wills of Malum after his defeat by the arch-angel Lux. After her death at the hands of Heaven's armies, her final dying cry conjured Shal'metus, her final child. This set a chain of events in motion that would all lead to this: the rebirth of the legendary First Demon!
Shub-Niggurath is not a character I made. Not even close. As a matter of fact, her real life origins date back farther than World War II. I was simply a big nerd of both Lovecraft's original work, and the redesign of his idea in id Software's "Quake". This rendition of the All-Mother is a combination between the Quake design, and my own radically simple understanding of cosmic horror. Realistically, I have no idea where this thing would have showed up in Endless. Maybe on Earth, maybe in another part of the Underworld, maybe just before or after Qon, who knows. The only mention of Shub in Endless lore that is still visible to this day is a short story I wrote called "Primordial", available on the Endless Multiverse studio page.
