HOW TO PLAY: Use the arrow keys to move. Use the X key while moving to run. Press Z to interact with characters. When you are done reading their dialogue, use X to close this. If that does not work, use Z to read the next bit of text. Next version, I intend to make a much more smoother control scheme for this. You can view these controls at any time by clicking on the pink question mark!
This project was made in order to make a (nearly) perfect collision system and interaction system. While I intend to use it for a role-playing game, the tile-collision system can be used in any type of project that requires it. The project (I don't really want to call it a game quite yet) takes place in a tavern in a far-away country called Selenia. You play as an unnamed protagonist from a land called La-Renam, known best for its hot, desert climate and huge marketplaces. The protagonist is well-known for her skills in potion-making, but despite her fame, she is very reluctant to talk to people. It sounds boring for now, I realize, but the project's barely done! I promise the future versions will be more interesting. If, for whatever reason, you are interested in the lore or have questions, I'll be happy to answer any questions. CREDITS I made the wood for the bar, the bricks, the chairs, the dialogue, and the help screen by myself. Many of the characters are either splices of various Final Fantasy characters or recolors in order to simulate the NES's limitations. The tables, stairs, and candles were also made in this fashion. (The important character designs are original, though!) The door, piano, and floor were directly ripped from Final Fantasy III manually. I used a program called Logic Pro to write the music. With some outside assistance, I was able to make the song use 8-bit instruments (it's not truly 8-bit, though, because there's one too many tracks... :K). The font you see everywhere was downloaded. It's called "Press Start 2P," and is an amazing font. I recommend using it if you can find a safe download! Thank you so much for testing out this project! If you see any bugs, graphical or not, please tell me in the comments! ----- Known Bugs: 1. The moving woman's (that the game heavily implies is a waitress, but who can be sure) collision is extremely buggy. I've tried everything I can, so I will most likely consult the forums as soon as I get the chance. 2. During some runnings of the project, the timing of some sounds are off. It's usually the sound for the project starting, it seems.
